All I'm asking...

Is for a little respect!

Just a little bit.

Respect the road.

Respect the people on the road.

Respect that if you love to speed, there is still a "small voice" telling you that there are more fun ways to have than unsafe driving

Happy 4th!  and Happy Canada Day!  Go Maple Leafs! /^^\

Summer driving

Two things every Hypermiler should be aware of are generally the same things "normal" drivers are aware of.  with a twist... you don't have to worry NEARLY as much as normal drivers.

What normal drivers do:  AH FUCK the construction is on my commute road again these F**kers blah blah blah.  (as if you thought this summer was going to have less construction than before).

What Hypermilers think:  While this is a nuisance, i feel much less pressure to drive over the speed limit.  As long as there are not too many stop signs added, I should be able to maintain my mileage, this may even be a good thing.

Summer Police!

What the normal driver thinks:  F*** that speed trap caught me again! I can't believe i got caught YET another time in the EXACT same speed trap!  Man, i wish i knew more about hypermiling!  This $100 speeding ticket is going to affect my mortgage payment!  etc. etc.

What the hypermiler thinks:  Well, when i was young i drove like a banshee.  Now i am not only safer, i don't even have the slightest to worry about in this speed trap.  Police generally don't pull people that drive just-a-little under the speed limit.  And that's me.  "Grandma driver".  We'll see who laughs last gas guzzling speeders!

SOOO

Which one are you?

heh heh /^^\

enjoy your $100 hypermilers!

oh GAWD where is the hype!!!???

Mad Max was amazing.

but everyone is more on board with Jurassic Park.

aside from explanations on how to hypermile a motorcycle.....

WHAT DO I DO NOW?  if motivation is LOW to hypermile!

1.  Remember, you can hypermile with ANY CAR!!!

we say "hypermile" but the actual goal for most drivers is to increase efficiency by 3 mpg.  This is usually done by checking what your MPG is when you fill.  Most people can think of the simple solutions to getting better mileage, such as a) reducing weight in the car and b) not driving fast and c) which is related, drive the speed limit, but not past it.

2.  Keep reading the blog.  Hypermiling in its truest sense is your response to saving the environment!

3.  Another great place to start that i have learned from another blog is "bicycle day".  use a bicycle once a week, or public transportation at least once a week.  This is a very dramatic way, though it seems small, to reduce your carbon footprint.
